Strathroy Christmas Show 2023
lose On November 18, 2023, 17 members of the A Cappella Connection chorus presented “An Afternoon of Joyful Christmas Music” to the people of Strathroy at the East Christian Reformed Church. In spite of moving the start time of the show from 2:00 to 3:00 PM so as not to audience members to the Santa Clause Parade on the same day, we sang to a crowd of only 125, but we still managed to raise for the Salvation Army $1037.85 and 15 pounds of nonperishable food items. Those attending enjoyed, an entertaining 2-1/2 hour show consisting of the A Cappella Connection chorus who, under the direction of John Gough and Paul Stuckless sang at their very best. Also added to the show was Strathroy’s “CRrackerS Ukulele Group”, the ventriloquism of Gord Vair and two of our chorus quartets, Townsend 4 (Ken Vanderheyden, Dan Smith, Bob Howlett & Larry Driessens) and Assorted Sweets (Vicky Gough, Paul Stuckless, John Gough & John Roffel).
Following the show, the chorus headed for Crabby Joe’s Restaurant where we relaxed with food, drink, and song. Due to Vicky Gough’s many accomplishments and service provided to the chorus through the COVID years up until now, she was awarded both the Rookie and Barbershopper of the Year awards. Many thoughts of appreciation were expressed to Vicky as well as to a number of other chorus members who had done well for us over the last four years. Not many photos where taken but here they are:
