Western Division Novice Quartet Contest
Seaforth, February 22nd, 2014
February 22: Seaforth chapter hosted Western Division Novice Contest. Strathroy’s 17 members there fielded the Vocal Federation chorus, 1 quartet and 1 VLQ and, once again, the judging quartet of the day, “Soundscape”, deemed our performances of such quality that we do not need to shine any trophies for next year’s event. However, our quartet has lapel pins as souvenirs from the event.
Vocal Federation placed second to London in the chorus competition.
Southernaires: (Messrs. Allen, Craenen, Fennell, Irvine, Knoll, Morley, Jim McDougall, McPherson, Naus, Dan Smith and Thompson) placed third in the VLQ competition. This was a first-time event for Messrs. Naus and Thompson.
2 Long and 2 Short quartet (Frank Knoll (T), Ron Smith (L), Stewie Irvine (Bs) and Roswell McPherson (Ba) placed second in the Regular Novice Quartet category.
